The COPD Foundation - South Africa is a registered NPO (Number 209-000 NPO). The C.A.R.E.S. Group (COPD, Advocacy, Research, Education, Support), is a working group run by an Advocacy Team comprising COPD Patients and Care Givers in and around South Africa.
The aim of our organisation is to improve awareness of this disease and its management throughout South Africa.
Pulmonologists are specialists involved in the care of patients with respiratory diseases such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). A Pulmonologist is a Specialist Physician who has spent an extra two years training in a recognised centre to manage such patients. At the end of the two years he / she has to pass an examination to be registered as a Pulmonologist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa. As this is a voluntary organisation, we rely solely on donations and sponsorships from individuals and companies. We would like to express our gratitude to the companies and institutions that are assisting us in our endeavour and providing extremely valuable resources and services to COPD sufferers. They are listed on our site with links to their organisations. Please consider donating to uour foundation by clicking on this link COPD Foundation - SA - Fund Raiser. |
