COPDF-SA

The COPD Foundation - South Africa is a registered NPO (Number 209-000 NPO). The C.A.R.E.S. Group (COPD, Advocacy, Research, Education, Support), is a working group run by an Advocacy Team comprising COPD Patients and Care Givers in and around South Africa

VISION

A South Africa where COPD is well-understood, effectively managed, and where every individual has access to the care and resources they need to breathe easier and live healthier lives.

MISSION

The aim of our organisation is to improve awareness of this disease and its management throughout South Africa.

OUR OBJECTIVES

The organisation's main objective is to engage in public benefit activities in communities,  as approved in Section 18A of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962 as amended,  and to undertake initiatives that result in expanded services for COPD to improve the lives of individuals affected by COPD. The Foundation's activities focus on achieving these results through research, education and advocacy programs that will lead to prevention, and someday, a cure for this disease.

  •  Welfare and humanitarian activities through our C.A.R.E.S. approach, being COPD Advocacy Research Education Support - Including support groups.

  •  Health care activities (particularly concerning COPD and Lung Diseases)

  • Education and Support activities will be achieved primarily through COPD Foundation, SA while Advocacy and Research activities will be achieved through collaboration with other health care and pharmaceutical organisations.

The organisation's ancillary objectives will be to raise monies from various initiatives, the profits of which will be channelled into registered or recognised charitable organisations and fund raising through special projects.
